My Story My name is Corina Gastelum I am 24 years old. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 25,1988. My parents are Hector Gastelum and Teodula Gastelum. When I was born my parents already had my older sister Sally she is three years older than I am. In December of 2008 my sister Sally gave birth to my niece Giselle Marie Perez she is such a smart little girl that I love very much. When I was five years old my younger sister Nataly was born. As a kid I grew up going to Queen Creek Schools. In elementary school I always remembered being very shy I always had only a few friends. My best friend lived next door to me we were raised to be very close to each other her family and my family get along very well. My middle school years were my favorite I had a lot more friends and my classmates were a little more friendly. When I entered high school my friends went their own ways and I made new friends. My high school years were great I only had a couple of friends but they were awesome and I am glad to say that I still keep contact with them. What I remember most about high school is my fashion class it was my favorite class I always enjoyed it and I wanted to become a fashion designer. After I graduated high school in 2006 I didn't really know what to do with my life. I didn't want to go to college I was tired of school so I decided to work. I worked at a telemarketing company for about a year then I got tired of it and quit. I had decided I wanted to do something else with life. I started babysitting at home. I used to take care of two little girls they were both my neighbors grandaughters one was 4 years old and the other was about 4 months old. I loved taking care of these young girls and see how they were growing up but it was getting me no where. Then I decided to go to beauty school and that took me about a year. When I was done with beauty school I had started to work at an elementary school where my friend had helped me get a job. I automatically fell in love with that job I loved the conditions I was working under the kids and the coworkers. To this day I do still work there and I love it. About two years ago when I was starting my second year there I was offered a position as an assistant for a teacher that works with autistic children. At first I do admit I was nervous to work with them but now I can honestly say that I do love it. Working with those kids is such a blessing they have changed my perspective on life. Thats one of the reasons I would like to become a teacher one day. In September of 2008 I started dating Mauricio Vizcarra we met at my mothers house. We dated for about 2 years when we decided to get married. Mauricio was born in Sinaloa just like my parents. All of my family does love him he is an easy going person that gets along with everyone really easily. We have had our ups and downs just like any other relationship but we have stuck together through all of it. We decided to get married on June 4th, 2011 in Sinaloa, Mexico in the same church where my parents got married. So far we have been married for one year and it has been a great one. Ever since I can remember our family vacations were to Mexico. We would always go on our summer vacations on the last day of school we would leave and stay there for about a month. Both of my parents family live in Sinaloa, Mexico so we sould go visit my grandparents my cousins aunts and uncles. I am glad to say I still love going there. Both my mother and father were born in Mexico and after they got married they decided to move to Arizona. My mother has no family living here in Arizona but my father has two sisters and two brothers that are near by. My family is very large my mother has 12 brothers and sisters and my father has 14 brothers and sisters which makes a lot of cousins. My family is one of the things that I am most proud of my parents have raised me and my sisters to be good. My goal one day is to have a family of my own that will have there own goals in life and that maybe I can help them reach and say that I had to go back to college and say that it is possible to reach your dreams one day.
